Welcome to our FAQ section, where you can learn pricing, how to order and general information about CSomePhotos.

Q: What the heck is CSomePhotos?
A: CSomePhotos is the dynamic duo of Herb and Leslie Collingridge. When you commission a photoshoot, you get the talent, experience, shutter clicks and fun of two people!

Q: What are your prices for a photo session?
A: An average photography session of 1-2 hours runs $125 for up to 5 subjects (people or pets). Each subject after that is an extra $10 a head. For each hour after 2 is an extra $25. Driving more than 30 miles from the Lake Stevens area is an additional $20.

Q: Where should we be photographed?
A: What kind of look do you want in your portraits? Review the website portrait pages for ideas. We can be formal or casual; outdoors can be dressy (i.e. slacks and sweaters) or casual (jeans). We usually don't recommend the "coat and tie" look for outdoor portraits.

Q: Can we be photographed at our home outdoors?
A: Yes. We look for full shade most of the time. Keep this in mind if you have a favorite spot at home and watch if a morning or late afternoon session would be better for shade. It is important that the background also be in shade. There shouldn't be any speckled sunlight filtering through trees, unevenly lighting the faces from camera position. Speckled sun falling on backs is OK.

Q: How about inside our home?
A: Indoor portraits at home are almost always made in your living room and include your natural home environment. Choose an indoor home portrait because you love your living room, not for "convenience".

Q: What should we wear?
A: Solid colors are best; avoid bold patterns and tops with advertising or sayings on them. Avoid tight short skirts and anything else that may interfere with posing. Clothing should not compete with faces. Be comfortable in whatever you choose. Also be aware of the weather and dress appropriately - goosebumps will show up in a picture. You may want to bring a change of clothes or a different top or sweater to see what works best.

Q: How long will my photo session last?
A: Most sessions last about 1-2 hours depending on the number of locations.

Q: Can we include our pet?
A: Your pet is welcome. Solid black and dark pets show up best against lighter clothing and solid white and light pets show up best against darker clothing. You might consider adding a bandana on your pet for color.

Q: What if it rains?
A: A heavy steady rain will obviously cancel an outdoor session. We will "play it by ear" if the rain is on and off. Overcast skies produce a soft light that is very flattering most of the time. We will bring a blanket so you'll stay dry if seated.

Q: How much notice do you need for us to reschedule our photo session?
A: If you must reschedule, we appreciate as much notice as possible.

Q: How soon can I see the proofs?
A: Digital images can be ordered immediately as soon as they are posted to the website for viewing. You can see your proofs as soon as 1 week, sometimes longer, depending upon the quantity of images and people in your photos. There is always some digital retouching services needed to photos such as "head swaps" or spots to remove.

Q: How do we select our portraits?
A: We suggest viewing your portraits on a large, high-resolution monitor so you can see every detail. When you see the one(s) you like, simply click on the "Add To Cart" button. You will be prompted to select the type of finish (i.e. lustre), print size (i.e. 4x6) and amount of prints. You can easily continue browsing and adding proofs until you are done.

Q: Do you sell your digital pictures?
A: Yes, digital files are $20 each and are very high resolution. Keep in mind though, the final print quality can
vary tremendously depending on where it is made.
